Since Jio entered the streaming ground, IPL has been played for free as they secured their media rights until 2027. But after the merger between Disney and Hotstar, they represent a paywall for their investors.

Who Owns the IPL 2025 Media Rights?

IPL media rights are the most expensive and have been sold for a $6 Billion deal in 2022. Indian Billionaire "Mukesh Ambani's company Viacom18 Secured the streaming media rights of IPL of $3.05 Billion. And Disney Owned HotStar secured TV rights for $3.02 Billion. 

Last year, these two mega platforms announced their merger named JioHotstar.com. In 2025, JioHotstar is set to stream IPL 2025 on the platform for some paid plans.
